Meet your driver-guide in the lobby and travel north by expressway — about two hours, with a rest stop on the way.

Toshogu Shrine & the Shinkyo Bridge

Explore the gilded Yomeimon Gate, the "see, hear, speak no evil" monkeys and the forest stairway to Ieyasu's tomb, then stop at the sacred red bridge for photos.

Lunch — Nikko yuba

Break for lunch. Nikko is known for delicate tofu-skin (yuba) cuisine and hand-cut soba; your guide will point you to the best of it. (Meals are at your own expense.)

Irohazaka Road, Kegon Falls & Lake Chuzenji

Climb the famous switchback road into the highlands. Take the lift to the foot of the 97-metre Kegon Falls, then walk the shore of Lake Chuzenji below Mt. Nantai.

On the way back down, a quiet riverside path lined with a long row of moss-covered Jizo statues — the corner the coach tours never reach.

No — it's at your own expense so you can eat what you like. Your guide recommends the best local spots.

Where do you pick us up?

From the lobby of your hotel anywhere in central Tokyo, at a time we agree in advance. Staying further out? Tell us and we'll confirm the pick-up.

Can we change the itinerary?

Yes — the tour is private. Tell your guide-driver what matters most to you and they'll shape the day around it, adding or dropping stops as you go.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The tour runs in almost all weather. Only conditions that make a mountain road genuinely unsafe would change the route, and your guide will always find a good alternative.

How and when do we pay?

You pay a 20% deposit when you book — by card or bank transfer — and that secures your date. The remaining 80% is settled with your guide on the tour day, cash or card. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
